Baptism
We welcome God’s children into the family of the Roman Catholic Church. God invites His children to share in the life of His people. The Sacrament of Baptism is the wondrous beginning of that grace-filled journey. Purifying us in the waters of Baptism, the Father seals His relationship with each and every one of us.
We thank the parents of God’s children who wish to have their children baptized. You are committing yourself to raise your beloved children in the Faith. You are providing the grace-opportunity to grow in Jesus.
Sponsors (godparents) play an important role in assisting the parents in nourishing and leading the children in the Faith. For the Baptism of children there are to be two godparents, a woman and a man. At least one of them has to be a Baptized and Confirmed Catholic who is free to receive Communion.
To celebrate the Sacrament of Baptism for yourself or a child, please contact Assumption Church Office (337-873-6574) or fill out the Baptismal request form provided on this site.
